(About The Images)
1806 POINTED 6, NO STEM (O-109, R.1). PCGS XF-45. 1806 POINTED 6, NO STEM (O-109, R.1). PCGS XF-45.
Lot Title: 1806 POINTED 6, NO STEM (O-109, R.1). PCGS XF-45.
Description: Clash marks and spindly die cracks around the date show that the dies were nearing the scarcer state "a", but the crack from star 12 has not yet developed, leading to attribution of a more common intermediate die-state. Percolating within the stars and the letters around the reverse, sparkling luster illuminates the borders and frequently breaks through somewhat cloudy lead-grey toning that splashes atop most of the devices. Large, early coins often suffered heavy contact with other coins, yet there are very few noticeable blemishes in this instance, with hardly a mark to be seen anywhere. The toning will be a little too splotchy to suit some tastes, but the technical merits are quite appealing for this early half-dollar. (PCGS# 006073)

1806 Pointed 6, No Stem (O-109) VF/dipped.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. A little dull to aggressive dipping sometime in the past, silvery greyish patina now rests over most of the surface, crowded by some returning rim tone on the...

1806 Pointed 6, No Stem (O-109) XF.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Obvious album toning permeates both sides and flashes bright under some viewing angles. The lovely effect is a trifle more apparent on the reverse. XF-40 should...

1806 Pointed 6, No Stem (O-109a, R.4) VF.

1806 Pointed 6, No Stem (O-109a, R.4) VF.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. While flatly struck and a bit lacking in sharpness as the usual result of the later die-state, we still believe VF-20 applies given tangible flowline texture...
530The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$500.00
1806 Pointed 6, No Stem (O-109a, R.4) XF/tooled.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Tooling shows as patches of parallel lines here and there in the fields where perhaps some small ticks were smoothed out. Additional circular tooling at the neck...
531The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,750.00
1806 Pointed 6, No Stem (O-110, R.6) VF/corroded.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. 1806 O-110 retains status as a very rare (R.6) die-marriage, and is easily identified by the grotesque die crack that extends to the right from Liberty's nose. ...
577The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,600.00
1806 Pointed 6, No Stem (O-109). PCGS XF-45.
Brilliant-ish luster threatens the extensive but slightly mottled dove-grey patina that overlays 90% of the coin, with the reverse showing the higher proportion of the silvery lustrous effect. This...
