Lot Title:
|
1900-S AU/scratched, 1903 AU details/cleaned, and 1904 AU.
|
Description:
|
A trio of double eagles whose value is based mainly on gold content, as they are either lightly impaired and/or lightly circulated. Personal inspection is encouraged, especially since IMpersonal inspection really wouldn't make much sense. Three coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1900-S PCGS MS-62.

Pretty luster dresses up the eye-appeal, but the fields are not clean enough to warrant a better grade, since numerous tiny ticks can be seen. Sharply detailed. |

835 | The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009 | $1,350.00 |
1900-S PCGS MS-62.
|
Sparkling luster is only mildly impaired by the usual trivial abrasions that preclude a higher grade. |
|
1243 | The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009 | $1,250.00 |
1900-S NGC MS-62.
|
Many cascading bands of cartwheel luster produce an utterly stunning effect despite the field abrasions suggested by the MS-62 grade. While the peripheral detail is not quite full, the strike was... |

1111 | The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008 | $1,150.00 |
1900-S PCGS MS-62.
|
Incredibly deep, rich mint luster exudes a remarkable three-dimensional appearance much like the surface of a clearwater lake. It is as if Liberty's portrait is floating atop the fields! Likely a... |

1112 | The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008 | $1,500.00 |
1900-S PCGS MS-63.
|
Semi-prooflike luster beams off the obverse, and there are no singularly obtrusive faults on either side. Despite the choice uncirculated grade, one cannot deny that this coin is rather moderately... |
