Description:
|
Some collectors disdain the notion of registry sets, and for them, the phrase "registry caliber coin" can inspire dangerous blood pressure levels, but the fact is that collecting coins for inclusion in a registry is a well managed method of maintaining friendly competition between collectors who enjoy sharing their successes. Typically, the notion of a registry set involves high-grade coins, and the Mercury dimes offered here are ideal for inclusion in such a consistently fine collection, since all three are graded MS-67 FB by PCGS. The included dates with PCGS population are: 1935 (220 at MS-67 FB, 6 higher), 1936 (154, 12 higher), and 1938-D (258, 11 higher). All three display phenomenal luster and exquisite detail, with the first two bathed in golden light, and the last frosty snow-white. A single spot is noted in the reverse right field for the 1935. Three coin lot.
