(About The Images)
1826 (O-111a, R.2) PCGS AU-58. 1826 (O-111a, R.2) PCGS AU-58.
Lot Title: 1826 (O-111a, R.2) PCGS AU-58.
Description: Modestly bright metallic-silver surfaces are lightly enriched with a dash of tone around the far points of the stars, with a little more generous coloration above "OF AMER" on the reverse. O-111 is usually well struck, with no exception seen here since the hair strands are executed with exquisite sharpness. Lower feathers and individual segmentation of the eagle's talons are carefully defined, and formidable luster shimmers through the fields. The obverse die is easy to recognize in this die-state because of curved die-cracks that box Liberty's portrait in a somewhat rectangular configuration.

662The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$360.00
1826 (O-101), 1830 (O-123), and 1831 (O-106) all XF.
Campania Estate. None of the die marriages is particularly scarce, but at the XF grade, and with pleasing vintage surface quality, this trio should prove popular with bidders. 1826 and 1830 feature...
663The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$120.00
1826 (O-103, R.5) F/corroded.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. 1826 O-103 seems to retain at least an R.5 rarity estimate. Microporosity affects limited portions of the surface for this "Fine details" example, suggesting that...
664The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$400.00
1826 (O-115, R.5) VF.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. The eagle's left wing bears scarcely any detail, but that might be a characteristic of a very worn die. Grading by the obverse suggests VF-20 as a likely grade....
665The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,050.00
1826 (O-116a) AU.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. A superior AU-58, every bit of the consignor's "unc" assessment seems to be there, except that some subtle linear circulation marks appear on the neck and prevent...
666The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$450.00
1826 (O-117a) AU.
Ronald Zink Early Type Collection. Screaming white luster paints the fields in an array of vibrancy normally seen for UNC coins, but a patch of hairlines shows up under some viewing angles in the...
667The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$525.00
1826 (O-118a) AU/hairlines.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Hairlines don't have much negative effect given the smooth satin luster that illuminates the fields. Pleasant pewter-grey merges with dusky gold nearer the edge. ...
814The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$210.00
1826 (O-106, R.3) NGC XF-45.
Clem Stevens Collection. Considerable luster for the grade emanates from between the stars despite a preponderance of deep graphite-grey patina. Details are especially sharp in Liberty's curls, and...
815The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$725.00
1826 (O-112) NGC AU-58 CAC.
Sparks of aluminum-white luster brighten up the outer field areas and flicker between the stars, generating considerable refinement for such a well preserved bust half. The obverse shows naught but...
692The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$320.00
1826 (O-108a, R.1) ANACS AU details/cleaned/net XF-40, and an 1829...
The level of details is very similar between this pair, which brings up an interesting argument for the 1826. The details are more like XF-45, but the cleaning is so mild that one still arrives at...
754The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$140.00
1826 (O-108a, R.1) XF.
CONSIGNOR: Really really bold! Not that high grade I guess, just had to have this one even if the grade wasn't quite up there with the rest of them. CATALOGER: Exceedingly bold, as the consignor...
574The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$300.00
1826 O-117 PCGS AU-53 OGH.
Stark contrast is seen between the dark border toning that abruptly transforms to a light silver appearance at the fields and devices of this rather unusual coin. It is almost as if the toning was...
575The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$625.00
1826 O-110, R-2. PCGS AU-55.
The dazzling opulence of entwined hues of russet-orange and powder blue heighten the visual vibrancy of this issue's gleaming surfaces. For ascription purposes, a minute toned surface mar is...
1420The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$625.00
1826 O-102, R-1. MS-60.
Lively reddish orange and violet coloration combine to present an enhancing sunsetlike radiance. This superb visual effect practically negates any observance of flecks or ticks. A handsomely struck...
1421The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$450.00
1826 O-116a, R-1. MS-61+.
This early half dollar has an interesting array of die cracks on both obverse and reverse. The mostly untoned surfaces radiate a delicate cartwheel. Minimally marked on the design elements and in...
