(About The Images)
1856 NGC AU-58. 1856 NGC AU-58.
Lot Title: 1856 NGC AU-58.
Description: Many of the abrasions are not the result of circulation, but rather came from the usual bag storage that tended to impart small dings and ticks to these earlier Coronet coins. Plenty of luster still beams from fairly well-preserved surfaces, though the overall appearance is a little pale for a coin of such age. As usual for earlier Coronet gold coins, a large price jump between AU-58 and MS-60 means the former grade can be seen as a bargain for an attractive piece with scant wear versus a mint-state piece with many distractions.
Low Estimate: $650.00

An orange-yellow aspect gleams from this issue's delicate, lustrous surfaces. Very minute contact ticks are perceived on this boldly struck specimen.
