(About The Images)
1804 Spiked Chin, Die State 4.0 (C-5, R.4). PCGS XF-40. 1804 Spiked Chin, Die State 4.0 (C-5, R.4). PCGS XF-40.
Lot Title: 1804 Spiked Chin, Die State 4.0 (C-5, R.4). PCGS XF-40.
Description: Spiked chin coupled with the widest fraction for easy attribution as C-5, popular for many collectable die states, in this case characterized by a prominent bisecting reverse die-crack, and an additional connecting the bottoms of "S OF A". While details are obviously characteristic of the XF grade level, a pinscratch stretches from the ribbon to the lower right rim, accompanied by a couple of prominent handling scratches on the neck, and yet two more beneath the ribbon. These are all originally toned like the rest of the coin and not terribly distracting.
Low Estimate: $975.00

1804 Spiked Chin, Die State 4.0 - 4.5 (C-6, R.2). XF details/corroded.
A familiar "spiked chin" begins attribution as C-6, and the reverse die state has progressed only to about IV or so, which makes this a scarcer and earlier die-state. Therefore, sharpness is...
