Lot Title:
1879-O PCGS Genuine, 1880-O PCGS MS-61, and 1921-D PCGS MS-64.
Description:
Mintmarked Morgan dollars comprise this trio, all encapsulated by PCGS. 1879-O was given a Genuine-94 code, which indicates "altered surfaces", and there does seem to be something odd going on with the surfaces, as if affected by a coating of mysterious residue. It is possible that someone wished to give the appearance of a prooflike coin (but failed). Also included are an 1880-O graded MS-61 that itself almost seems to have questionable surfaces, and a 1921-D graded MS-64 that for the grade has a surprisingly broad and distracting planchet on the reverse left. Three coin lot.
