Lot Title:

1879 NGC AU-58, 1897-S NGC AU-58, and 1901-O PCGS AU-58.
|
Description:
|
GOLD! For the numismatist, the word conjures up lustful visions of gleaming, yellow metal, magnificent shiny artwork, classic Federal coin designs and, uh, plastic slabs. Each of these Coronet eagles is graded AU-58, and the grade is suitable in every case. Dates are listed as: 1879 and 1897-S, both NGC certified; and 1901-O, which is PCGS certified. This last coin is particularly distinctive for the handsome molten-orange tone accenting the amber surfaces. Three coin lot.

A copious orange glow accentuates the velvety surfaces of this Philadelphia issue. Only a moderate number of contact marks are detected on this eminently struck, handsome example. |
