(About The Images)
1926-D PCGS MS-64. 1926-D PCGS MS-64.
Lot Title: 1926-D PCGS MS-64.
Description: Orange-peel effect is just beginning to form in the fields, with the dies presently at the stage of imparting attractive satiny texture. Five or six carbon flecks can be seen scattered across this side, but the eye is more immediately drawn to obvious rainbow iridescence at the rims, continuous around the entire periphery. Details on the reverse suffer the usual 1926-D characteristic of poor sharpness, with scarcely a full horn and hardly any tail detail. Obvious and nearly extreme die erosion is apparent on this side, the mintmark being hardly more than a fuzzy blur.
Low Estimate: $1,400.00
High Estimate: $1,800.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.

331The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$425.00
1926-D PCGS MS-63.
1926-D suffered much the same fate as it's S-mint companion - worn dies used to strike a number of coins far in excess of expected die life. Thus, while lustrous and obviously mint-state, die erosion...
394The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,200.00
1926-D PCGS MS-64.
Difficulty in acquiring a nice 1926-D is underestimated by comparison to its sister 1926-S issue, yet the Denver coins are also notable for poor strikes and deficient planchets. Uneven detail is...
284The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$1,600.00
1926-D PCGS MS-64.
Subtle rainbow tone clings tenaciously to the obverse rims, gaining vitality nearer the date area. The balance of the obverse and the entire reverse are emblazoned with ruddy-gold patina. While not...
570The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$260.00
1926-D PCGS MS-62.
While the overall appearance is a little finer than MS-62, poor peripheral detail at the back of the Indians headdress and at the bison's head and overall torso undoubtedly limited the grade. A...
377The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$280.00
1926-D AU
Surfaces still retain some smoothly enticing mint luster, and the strike is not bad at all for this issue, accommodating a complete horn. A premium coin with no problems at all, and evenly tinted with...
433The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$625.00
1926-D PCGS MS-63.
This highly lustrous semi-key branch mint nickel depicts stronger definition on its design motifs than the typical soft details normally associated with this date. It's a shimmering example that has...
365The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$415.00
1926-D NGC MS-63.
If this coin were struck just a smidge stronger, it would be in an MS-65 holder. It has amazing luster, no marks, and attractive color.
981The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$575.00
1926-D PCGS MS-63.
A lustrous example with highly reflective fields that have a somewhat prooflike look. The strike is a bit weak, but that is how they often come.
1171The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$650.00
1926-D NGC MS-63.
A creamy, lilac rose iridescence radiates from the surfaces of both sides. Nice horn definition and lots of luster.
