(About The Images)
1932-S PCGS MS-63. 1932-S PCGS MS-63.
Lot Title: 1932-S PCGS MS-63.
Description: Patina is reminiscent of that seen on silver coins from mint sets, and has the benefit of helping attenuate the visual impact of several tiny blemishes in the fields. Sparkling luster benefits this key quarter to great extent, and at first glance, the booming cartwheels almost seem to indicate a higher grade. However, some small scrapes at the corner of Washington's jaw limit the grade. Die cracks at the bottom of the portrait are noticeable with only slight magnification.
Low Estimate: $500.00
High Estimate: $600.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.

789The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$400.00
1932-S NGC MS-61, and a 1938-S NGC MS-63.
Mike Wrinkle Collection. A pair of tougher early San Francisco quarters includes the lowest mintage 1932-S, and this coin offers surprisingly bold luster for the grade, with white surfaces overall. ...
790The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$950.00
1932-S PCGS MS-64.
Ex-Fivaz Collection. Evidently a fairly early die-state, the obverse right field displays a plethora of nice die-polish, illuminated by actively flowing luster. Neither side has any defects, and...
556The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$575.00
1932-S PCGS MS-63.
Price guides frequently show a peculiar anomaly whereby the 1932-S is key to the series in low grade, but at the present MS-63, it trails the famed 1932-D as the premier coin. Choice coins are...
568The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$390.00
1932-S MS-60.
Very faint friction on the uppermost levels of detail should squeak by and permit an UNC grade, with considerable streaky tone limiting upward mobility. All the luster is in place, modestly...
674The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$825.00
1932-S PCGS MS-64.
Darker shades of navy-blue and chartreuse-brown splash the obverse upper and lower-left rims in a somewhat mottled pattern. Potent luster motivates the eye-appeal, with a few ticks on Washington's...
520The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$550.00
Two 1932-S NGC UNC details/improperly cleaned and UNC...
NCS has deemed the toning on one coin to be artificial, but realistically, it probably was not intentionally applied, and is merely took dark to pass as "desirable" in the current mode of thought. It...
521The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$380.00
1932-S MS-60.
MS-60 is a grade reserved for coins that are truly uncirculated but may be deficient in terms of eye-appeal. The grade fits this key quarter. Obverse quality is actually reminiscent of MS-62 at...
522The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$800.00
Two 1932-S NGC MS-63 and MS-62.
The low-mintage champion of the silver Washington quarter series is of course the 1932-S, and a pair of these are included here. That graded MS-62 displays a couple of significant abrasions on...
523The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$525.00
1932-S PCGS MS-63.
Robust luster imbues this coin with infectious eye-appeal, augmented by vintage surface quality that bears no signs of abuse. While contact marks are fewer than expected of MS-63, the grade can be...
524The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$600.00
1932-S PCGS MS-63.
Conservatively graded and undeniably original, the obverse is sprayed with a multitude of tiny tobacco-grey speckles that give the impression of mint set toning, while the reverse is somewhat more...
526The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$2,900.00
Four 1932-S PCGS MS-64.
A quartet of 1932-S quarters, each graded MS-64 and from the same submission, as can be seen by proximity of the serial numbers (not to mention the consignor's notes). All are original and lustrous...
527The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,600.00
Two 1932-S PCGS MS-64.
From a local hoard of 1932-S quarters is this pair of lustrous beauties, both certified near the gem grade by PCGS. While one coin displays some golden tone on the reverse, the other has a reverse...
528The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,050.00
1932-S PCGS MS-64.
Upper-end for MS-64, with even fewer tiny ticks than expected of the grade. Powerful luster skates across the fields and brings the visual appeal close to the gem level.
402The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$425.00
1932-S NGC MS-62.
Choice at arm's length, close up examination is required to confirm that there are just a few too many contact marks to justify a full point upgrade. Luster is full and unimpeded, however, and the...
363The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$390.00
1932-S MS-60.
Potent luster lurks beneath considerable patina that is accented with tobacco-gold accents on either side. Although completely original, the modestly streaky effect will not appeal to all collectors,...
674The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$390.00
1932-S MS-60.
Potent luster lurks beneath considerable patina that is accented with tobacco-gold accents on either side. Although completely original, the modestly streaky effect will not appeal to all collectors,...
675The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$675.00
1932-S NGC MS-63.
Fewer marks than expected of the MS-63 grade are to be found, though the luster is slightly impeded by steam-grey patina layering both sides. Trivial tobacco colored carbon spots pepper Washington's...
676The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$625.00
1932-S MS-64.
A very faint touch of friction on Washington's upper cheekbone is all that bars consideration for the "gem" grade level, as is suggested by the included PCGS MS-64 tag. Though no longer encapsulated,...
659The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$280.00
1932-S PCGS AU-58.
Scarcely any wear whatsoever identifies this key Washington quarter as a circulated coin. It is rather the presence of a handful of scrapes on the president's cheek and in the left obverse field that...
660The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$800.00
1932-S PCGS MS-64.
Steely-grey mint luster with a yellowish cast glints from beneath a thin veil of original patina, and a limited number of prominent greyish streaks across each side provide additional visual interest....

1932-S, 1934-D, 1935-D, 1936-S and 1938-S Washington quarters.
Scarcer early Washington quarters form this quintet. They are listed as follows: 1932-S (AU-58, lightly cleaned), 1934-D (AU-58, lightly cleaned), 1935-D (AU-55), 1936-S (AU-58, lightly cleaned), and...
475The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$300.00
1932-S MS-60+.
With mint luster and strike quality that are a smidgeon better than average, and perhaps a couple of tiny bagmarks more than typical for the grade, this key date Washington quarter averages out to a...
476The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$400.00
1932-S MS-60, light hairlines.
Even up close, this key date quarter appears to be a very choice UNC, with booming cartwheel mint luster and a profusion of eye appeal due to peripheral album toning. Studious inspection reveals a...
477The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$775.00
1932-S PCGS MS-63.
Average mint luster is embellished just a little with tinges of peach-gold color at the upper obverse and much of the reverse periphery. Small bag marks are strewn in limited numbers across the left...
501The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$200.00
1932-S XF-45.
Lacks just a bit of luster to achieve a full AU grade. Lightly patinated with an occasional carbon fleck and a filled mintmark.
502The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$240.00
1932-S AU-55.
A considerable amount of original mint luster, along with only very gentle wear, entreats a grade of AU-55. Free of any problems, and nearly brilliant throughout, this key date could comfortably...

1932-S ANACS MS-61.
Original russet and mauve tones radiate handsomely from the satiny surfaces of this key branch mint issue. Lingering beneath these rich visual hues are some scattered marks, most notably on...
526The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$260.00
1932-S AU-58.
Just the tiniest amount of rub is holding this beauty back from greatness. It has rolling luster, a monster strike, and no problems.
527The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$575.00
1932-S MS-60+.
A satinlike glow emits from this key date's surfaces. Its visual quality is enhanced by splotches of amber hues. Just over 400,000 were struck, making this first year of issue's mintage the smallest...
528The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$450.00
1932-S ANACS MS-60 Details Cleaned.
Evidence of a light cleaning is noticed to the left of Washington's profile. Two interesting die cracks are observed -- one on its obverse running from Washington's forehead into his hair strands,...
529The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$280.00
1932-S SEGS MS-63 Cleaned.
Plenty of original mint luster can still be observed on this super nice key date quarter. The obverse may have been lightly cleaned a long time ago, but it has recovered nicely.
530The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$1,550.00
1932-S PCGS MS-64.
A mere 408,000 pieces were struck at the San Francisco Branch Mint for this inaugural production year. This represents the lowest recorded mintage for this series. Its gleaming lustrous surfaces are...
1096The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$1,050.00
1932-S MS-63.
Gorgeous and wholly original with glowing russet hues appearing on the obverse surfaces. The fields are fairly clean for the grade, and the detail is solid. Some die polish lines can be detected on...
1335The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$210.00
1932-S AU-55+.
A lightly circulated specimen of this key date from this predominate series. A delicate silverlike aspect, with some faint hairlines and hazy toning, is observed on this decently struck example. .
1336The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$725.00
1932-S NGC MS-62.
Delightfully lustrous on eminently satinlike surfaces. A light sprinkle of microscopic ticks, and some wispy iridescence on the obverse, are noted.
1337The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,500.00
1932-S PCGS MS-63.
A fully lustrous example that exhibits a satinlike quality. Exquisite tinges of amber are observed on its obverse. A scant number of ticks are observed on Washington's portrait of this prominently...
424The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$260.00
1932-S PCGS AU-55.
A lightly circulated, or perhaps mishandled, example of this key date for this prevailing series. Some faint hairlines are evidenced on this nicely struck issue; displaying a delicate, silvery...
425The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$240.00
1932-S AU-58.
The obverse of this AU+ key date Quarter has attractive rainbow toning and minimal wear. The reverse has some original mint bloom covering problem-free fields.
426The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$500.00
1932-S MS-60+.
This San Francisco key date displays a brilliant untoned bearing. Possibly cleaned a long time ago, evidenced by a few insignificant wipe lines on Washington's neck. Excellent definition is observed...
427The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$775.00
1932-S PCGS MS-62.
Some milky mint bloom can be observed on the obverse of this key date Quarter. It is superbly struck, and problem free. Bidding should be very spirited when this coin comes to the auction block.
428The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$0.00
1932-S PCGS MS-64.
The reverse appears to be a full MS-65+, but a couple of light lines on Washington's neck might prevent this coin from reaching that level. A small area of milky, and also dark violet, toning is seen...
