Description:

The "Doubled 1" referenced on the NGC insert observes an extra dash just below the base of the first digit, and this die variety is also characterized by die lines right of the date. Details are wonderfully sharp and suggest the uncirculated level, but of course the lack of luster is due to the coin sitting under water for decades, and being subsequently conserved. Box, certificate and a National Geographic DVD entitled "Civil War Gold" are included in this offering.
