Lot Title:
Twenty-five different date San Francisco Mint Morgan dollars.
Description:
A remarkable selection of San Francisco Morgan dollars in that every single one is a different date. Unfortunately, to a coin, every one is also cleaned, and on top of that, they are in old PVC flips from the 1980s, and many show at least some ill effect from the poor storage environment. They are cataloged with DETAIL GRADES ONLY as follows: 1878-S (UNC), 1879-S (UNC), 1880-S (UNC), 1881-S (UNC PL), 1882-S (UNC), 1883-S (XF/PVC damage), 1884-S (AU), 1885-S (AU), 1886-S (AU), 1887-S (AU/PVC damage), 1888-S (AU/dipped), 1889-S (AU/PVC damage), 1890-S (UNC), 1891-S (UNC), 1892-S (VF/polished), 1894-S (AU), 1895-S (AU), 1896-S (AU), 1898-S (AU/PVC damage), 1899-S (AU/PVC damage), 1900-S (AU/PVC damage), 1901-S (AU), 1902-S (XF), 1903-S (AU/PVC damage), and 1904-S (AU/PVC damage). All bids should be formulated under the assumption that every coin is cleaned in this twenty-five coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
