Lot Title:
Twenty collector date Morgan dollars.
Description:
Rather than list these Morgan dollars individually, followed by each one's grade, it shall be simpler to list a grade, and the dates that rank correspondingly. It should first be noted that essentially without exception, every single one of these is cleaned, though in many cases, the evidence is fairly light, and the coin could be useful for inclusion in an album collection. Further, many have also been stored in PVC flips, so some care should be taken when examining these and formulating a skillful bid. The following grade between AU-50 and MS-60 but are cleaned: 1878 7/4 TF, 1878 reverse of '79, 1879-S reverse of '78, 1882 O/S (PVC damage), 1882 O/S, 1886-O, 1888-S, 1892 (slider BU), 1892-O, 1893, 1893-O, 1899, 1900-O, and 1903. The following grade between XF and AU but are cleaned: 1894, 1903-S, and 1904-S. Rounding out the lot are the following: 1899-O (MS-63), 1901 (XF/whizzed), and 1902-S (MS-60/obverse scratch/PVC). Twenty coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
