Lot Title:
Complete set of Walking Liberty half-dollars in a Dansco 7160 album.
Description:
A sticker in the front cover states "WALKERS 1916 - 47 PDS 11/97 G/VG to AU Sims $469.00". Only time will tell whether this purchase, presumably from Paul Sims (still in business) was a good one, but the grade range given is fairly accurate. No coin has less than fully G-4 details, but it should be noted that 1921 is cleaned on both sides, and 1921-D is slightly cleaned (perhaps just dipped). Later coins grade in the VF range, with perhaps a couple at most worthy of full AU consideration. 1916-D is a typical G-4, 1916-S is a strong G-6, and 1938-D is a nice F-12.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
