Lot Title:
Complete set of Peace dollars in a Dansco 7175 album.
Description:
The consignor's notes indicate that this album was one of his early efforts, and he has since learned to better distinguish true BU coins from those made to appear so. Let's hope he has learned his lesson! Most of these Peace dollars fall in the AU/BU range, with notable exceptions including 1921 (XF/cleaned), 1934-D (XF), and 1935-S (XF). The 1928 grades around MS-60, and the 1934-S is a surprisingly decent AU with better surfaces and strike than are usually found in album sets. A number of coins have likely been dipped, since there is a little too much white "consistency" to the overall presentation.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
