Lot Title:
1832 (C-3, R.1) PCGS MS-64BN.
Description:
C-3 is easy to recognize by the tiny raised lumps strewn across the reverse - the result of a rusted die. Interestingly, there is some dispute as to whether any examples were struck from "perfect dies", as none have ever been discovered, so this remains a reliable diagnostic. Mahogany-bronze tone dominates this MS-64 example, housed in a PCGS green-label holder, with hints of wintergreen iridescence illuminating the reverse periphery. For coin bearing a proper "BN" color designation, cartwheel effect is pleasing on both sides.
