(About The Images)
1893-S PCGS MS-63. 1893-S PCGS MS-63.
Lot Title: 1893-S PCGS MS-63.
Description: An 1893-S silver dollar in the MS-63 grade would cause all kinds of excitement on the bidding floor, but alas, half-eagles of the same date and mint are common nearly to the point of being mere bullion. Fortunately, this is a nice example of the latter type, featuring attractive luster and pleasing color. Each side as afflicted with quite a number of tiny tick marks, but all of them are individually insignificant, the grade being determined by the aggregation of their number.

1059The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$390.00
1893-S NGC MS-62.
While gently abraded across pretty much the entire obverse, the reverse has survived in better shape and looks a point better than MS-62. Very adequate sharpness includes nearly full stars and strong...

1893-S NGC MS-63.
Mike Wrinkle Collection. The MS-63 grade is pinpoint accurate for a gold coin with just the perfect number of contact marks for the choice level. Nicely struck with pleasing central definition.
854The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,400.00
1893-S NGC MS-62, 1898 PCGS MS-62, and a 1908 $5 Indian NGC MS-61.
If two's company and three's a crowd, what's to be made of this trio of gold half-eagles? They are listed as follows: 1893-S, 1898, and 1908. The Indian gold coin seems to be the pick of the litter....
855The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$550.00
1893-S NGC MS-62.
Minor hairlines slip-slide across the lower portrait, and a little die grease is splashed across the obverse lower rim, and these minor detractions may have compelled an MS-62 grade, since the overall...
1010The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,200.00
1893-S PCGS MS-63.
Lustrous, with the merest breath of pale blue iridescence along the right obverse edge. A narrow band of die grease clings to nearly the entire reverse border
