Description: The Hide and Leather National Bank of Chicago, Illinois. A stunning find, as there are previously no tens reported on this Chicago bank. Add to that a well preserved note with outstanding color, and huge signatures, and you have an exceptional jewel for your collection. From an article dated December 21, 1897: The Hide and Leather Bank will go into liquidation to-morrow. The stockholders will meet to-morrow afternoon for the last time, and will formally vote to transfer the assets of their institution to the Union National Bank. The Clearing House will receive notice that checks on the Hide and Leather Bank will be paid by the Union National Bank. All arrangements have been made by the Union National Bank for assuming the ac-counts and liabilities of the Hide and Leather Bank.
