Lot Title:
1847 PCGS AU-50.
Description:
For the aficionado who loves strictly original "dirty gold", here is a coin worthy of consideration. While lacking a little in the area of luster for the grade, prodigious dusky patina drapes this entire ten-dollar with a nuance of bronze and gold coloration that has evaded any attempts at "improvement" over the years. A smattering of ashy buildup surrounds several stars and clings to many letters on the reverse, aiding apparent sharpness. 1847 is not a rarity in the gold series, but unmolested gold is not always widely available, and this coin is a treat in that regard. Buy it, and keep the history alive!
