(About The Images)
1864 PCGS PF-63. 1864 PCGS PF-63.
Lot Title: 1864 PCGS PF-63.
Description: (Ex. Heritage 2/27/2003: 7996) Seated Liberty dollars are most impressive in Proof format, especially if well cared for, and even at the mundane grade of PF-63, this is a reasonably attractive example in a PCGS holder. Fiery cobalt-blue iridescence merges with the left side of the obverse, modulating into subtle accents of cinnamon-grey strewn across the balance of that side, while the reverse is consistently permeated with pewter-grey haze. Without a doubt, this choice example displays its assets at best advantage under proper lighting conditions! Technical limitations include several vertical pin scratches in the obverse right field, but these are fortunately subdued by the patina. A surprisingly nice coin for the grade level.
