(About The Images)
1835 Small 8, Stars (N-8, R.1) PCGS AU-55. 1835 Small 8, Stars (N-8, R.1) PCGS AU-55.
Lot Title: 1835 Small 8, Stars (N-8, R.1) PCGS AU-55.
Description: The bisecting obverse die crack has already developed across the obverse at this stage of the die life, and snakes from the date up to "TY" on the headband. N-8 is actively pursued by some collectors who enjoy studying die state progression, and 1835 was something of a transition date, from the style portrait of 1834 to the newer, sleeker style used in 1836. This is a lovely violet-brown example with pleasing, lustrous sheen and flickers of red on the reverse.
