Description:

The Liberty Nickel series is comprised of only thirty-three coins, and none of them is extremely rare, making it one of the most achievable series in American numismatics. Sadly, it remains out of favor and sadly neglected by most collectors. Conversely, it's lack of popularity is noticed by shrewd collectors who recognize historic and numismatic value at bargain levels. This group of coins includes no duplicates and makes up nearly half of a complete set. All have been certified save one, which was removed from a slab for reasons unknown. In every single case, the offered grade is appropriate, suggesting a keen eye on the part of the consignor. Dates include: 1883 "with cents", 1888, 1889, 1892, 1893, 1895, 1896, 1897, 1898, 1899, 1901, 1903 (ex-PCI MS-60), 1907, 1911 and 1912. Although none of the "glamour" dates are included, most of the tougher issues are, and except for 1896 (PF-64) and the 1903 (MS-60), all grades are concentrated in the "sweet spot" of MS-63/64. Personal inspection is mandatory for this fifteen coin lot!
