(About The Images)
1928 MS-66. 1928 MS-66.
Lot Title: 1928 MS-66.
Description: The obverse surface has an exquisite lilac blush that evolves into a whirl of magenta at the periphery. The reverse surface exhibits a frosted iridescent aspect. This virtually pristine piece has almost nothing of a distraction to make note. Although not a Full Head strike, much detailing is observed on Liberty, her shield, and the Eagle.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $550.00

1928 PCGS MS-65FH.
Precise strike quality brings up all the requisite details for the FH designation, and even pulls up all the rivets on the shield, with the third and fourth "barely there". The uncanny luster swoops...

507The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$320.00
1928 MS-64.
Peculiar toning on the reverse includes an amazingly realistic three-dimensional rendition of a curving thread stuck to the base of the eagle's trailing wing, but it is in fact an optical illusion,...
348The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$220.00
1928 MS-63.
An endless supply of mint frost has been heaped upon this gorgeous quarter, providing a wonderful steam-grey presence that will elicit interest from collectors who love totally original, never dipped...
495The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$260.00
1928 MS-63.
The fantastic reverse of this near-Gem piece grades fully MS-66, but a scattering of a few occasional grayish freckles across each side yields our conservative appraisal. Ninety percent of the head...
1084The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$475.00
1928 MS-66.
A glistening, satinlike specimen exhibiting a blush of exquisite rose that deepens to a mauve hue at the lower periphery on the obverse. The reverse displays a lustrous and velvetlike aspect. ...
