Lot Title:
1861 PCGS PF-65CAM.
Description:
Stunning, molten amber-gold tone flows over this diminutive gem, concentrating near the edge of the reverse and washing around Liberty's portrait with delightful effect. The toning transforms into a series of deeply hued rainbow arcs at the lower left of the obverse, and spills onto the reverse in drenching waves of iridescent pea-green, ocean-blue and crimson-gold color. The effect is truly astounding! Cameo contrast is unmistakably pronounced on either side, and in combination with the marvelous color, there is not the remotest shortage of eye appeal generated by this rare jewel. Quite simply, an amazing coin that is well worthy of the coveted Scotsman Cataloger's Choice award.
