Lot Title:
Four Morgan dollars.
Description:
This is the last of three lots from a consignor who states that all of her coins were pulled from circulation by her uncle who ran an ice cream stand. This is a quartet of better Morgan dollars all dated in the 19th century and in much better grade than expected of circulating dollars of this vintage. Dates include: 1888-S (AU-50), 1890-CC (F-12), 1891-S (AU-55), and 1895-O (XF-40). The first three coins have typical patina for the given grade, while the 1895-O features some evidence of unusual toning, perhaps from very long term storage in its paper envelope. If only it were possible today to find 1895-O silver dollars in pocket change! A really nifty four coin lot from the Rhode Island Ice Cream Stand consignment.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
