Description: Hawaiian issues continue to fly under the radar despite inclusion in the Redbook, and near-gem example like the present 1883 quarter can still be had for what seems like a bargain price. Hints of slate-green iridescence peep through the thick golden patina mostly on the right side of the obverse, while the reverse patina is even more substantial, providing a distinct iron-grey appearance.
