1916-D About Good in a complete set of Mercury dimes in a Whitman 9413 album.
Description:
Generally original and mostly attractive mid-grade coins are included in this nicer set of Mercury dimes, complete from 1916 - 1945-S. The key 1916-D grades AG-3, 1921 is VF/scratched reverse, 1921-D is F, and an overdated 1942/1 is included with a grade of VG-8/lightlty cleaned, and all four of these keys are reasonably appealing for their respective condition as stated. In addition, many coins are upgraded, with very few falling below the "fine" grade. A few additional highlights will help to exemplify the overall caliber of the set, including: 1917-S (AU), 1918-D (VF), 1918-S (XF), 1919-D (AU/cleaned), 1919-S (XF), 1924-D (XF), 1924-S(VF), 1926-D (AU), 1926-S (F), 1927-D (XF), and 1927-S (VF). Numerous coins on the last page are AU or better.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
