Lot Title:
Complete set of AU/BU Indian-head quarter-eagles in a Capital Plastics' holder.
Description:
The consignor indicates that the 1911-D was removed from an NGC MS-61 holder, and certainly it is a genuine coin, bearing the diagnostic fin and a bold mint mark. The balance of these coins grade AU to BU. Naturally, most of the value is in the 1911-D, but there are some very nice representatives of other dates, perhaps grading as high as MS-62 in some cases. This is surely the most popular of all U.S. gold series, simply because it is "doable".
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
