Lot Title:
1850-O XF.
Description:
This is very nearly a terrific Seated Liberty dollar, bearing meaningful mint luster within the protected expanses of the fields, and displaying very sharp details. The only detraction is a pair or so of trivial hairlines in the right obverse field, visible only from certain viewing angles. Otherwise, the surfaces are uncommonly free from dings or marks, and the rims are perfectly preserved. Excellent quality for the XF-45 grade level.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1850-O F/lamination, and an 1860-O VF.
Campania Estate. A lamination can be seen on the extreme obverse right of the 1850-O, and the shield features a full LIBERTY, though delicate rim bumps may be seen on either side as well and could... |

787 | The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011 | $550.00 |
1850-O Major Reverse Lamination F details/cleaned.
The reverse is grotesquely affected by just about the most outrageous surface lamination your cataloger has ever seen. An enormous section of the center has fallen completely off the coin, revealing... |

1850-O XF/minor rim bruises.
From the edges and protected areas of the design elements, flashes of mint luster peep through the dominant taupe-grey patina. Really well struck for a New Orleans dollar, with just a couple of minor... |

1850-O and 1872.
A pair of Seated dollars, including 1850-O (VF-35) and 1872 (VF-30). While the latter coin is reasonably original, the 1850-O was likely dipped at one time, though not to the coin's detriment. The... |
