Lot Title: 1836 and 1838 (x2).
Description: A trio of small-sized capped bust quarters gather together to make up this lot. They are cataloged as follows: 1836 B-2 (VF-35 and nearly perfect), 1838 B-1 (VF-20/minor damage), and 1838 B-1 (VF-20/reverse corroded). Three coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

The terminal obverse die created a huge bisecting crack on the obverse, and many collectors seek out B-1 by die-state with this grotesque example being ideal for DS-6. It's a pretty coin, too, as...
525The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$190.00
1836 (B-3) XF details/cleaned.
The cleaning seems to be old and not too prominent at all, providing just a touch of glossy character to slightly excessive underlying brilliance. Both sides have recovered quite a bit of ashy...

1836 PCGS AU-50, and an 1838 (B-1) NGC XF-45.
Considerable luster roams the fields for the 1836, accented by a splash of azure-blue toning here and there on both sides. The 1838 B-1 displays nice, simple even beige-grey coloration and reasonable...
