Decidedly near-cameo, with bright, frosted devices that depart nicely from the gleaming, pristine silvery fields. Prooflike quality is not unexpected of an 1879 dime, as the dies saw little usage from a low output of just fifteen-thousand coins. This example suffers only the most minor of post-mint impairments, and what seems to be a small dig in the right obverse field is in fact a tiny planchet flaw.
