Lot Title:
1896 PCGS PF-64 CAM.
Description:
Barber coinage of the nineteenth century is famed for technical excellence and cameo production, and the contrast for this coin is irrefutable. An intriguing toning pattern takes the form of broad stripes quadrasecting the obverse, with wide bands of violet-grey patina alternating with pristine areas of silver brilliance. The reverse is predominantly brilliant. Minor hairlines are expected of the PF-64 grade, but they seem more prevalent on the reverse.
