Lot Title:
1918-S NGC MS-64 (cac).
Description:
While strike quality and preservation are about average for the MS-64 grade, the addition of some gorgeous rainbow iridescence around each side elevates the eye appeal considerably, and may have led to CAC approval. Die erosion provides extensive orange peel effect in the upper-right and lower-left obverse fields, and one certainly gets a premonition of the strike difficulties that would plague San Francisco in ensuing years. Eye candy for the buffalo nickel fanatic!
