(About The Images)
1903 NGC MS-65. 1903 NGC MS-65.
Lot Title: 1903 NGC MS-65.
Description: Subtle splotches of coppery-orange tint areas of the reverse, but this impressively original quarter-eagle exudes consistently attractive patina and gains additional benefit from decisively struck design elements. While all twentieth century quarter-eagles are very common in basic and even choice uncirculated grades, gems are always noteworthy, especially when as nice as this example.

1903 PCGS MS-64.
Flashy due to excellent die polish in the fields of both sides. These must have been fresh dies, as the details are extremely sharp, and every single star is absolutely brought up to fullest extent.
396The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$725.00
1903 PCGS MS-64.
Superior eye-appeal derives from deeply struck design elements and clean fields, which are disturbed very sparsely by slight contact marks, including a handful of minor abrasions above the portrait. ...
1025The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$625.00
1903 AU, and a 1927 Indian quarter-eagle AU.
Light circulation places these quarter-eagles into the AU category. An abundance of circular luster remains on the Liberty example. Two coin lot.
1026The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$3,000.00
1903 NGC PF-61.
Almost 200 proof quarter-eagles were coined in 1903, a high mintage by Coronet gold standards, but attrition had a sobering effect on these rare gold proofs, and likely less than half of those still...

1903 PCGS MS-64.
Several trivial copper spots are mostly inconspicuous and scattered toward the rims. A powerful strike and loads of luster are the primary contributions to the eye-appeal.
966The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,050.00
1903 PCGS MS-64.
Near the apex of an MS-64 grade, surfaces glitter with determined luster and display only the most fragile of abrasions. Further, as is usually the case for 20th century Philly gold, strike quality...
967The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$800.00
1903 PCGS MS-64.
Struck with intense precision, the fields shine with exuberant luster, and there is no area is remotely soft on either side. While many collectors complain ad nauseum about copper spots on gold...
968The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,750.00
1903 NGC MS-65.
Delicate carbon spots are scattered about each side, providing solemn testimony as to the vintage quality of the surfaces. This gold coin has not been "helped", and the shimmering tortoise-shell...
741The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$725.00
1903 PCGS MS-63.

743The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$3,800.00
1903 NGC MS-67.
Deserved reputation as common coins usually relegates late date Coronet gold to bullion status, but once in a while, Providence smiles down upon a fortunate individual example and allows it to achieve...
1079The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,700.00
1903 NGC MS-65.
Philadelphia was producing high quality gold after the turn of the century, and this coin easily lays claim to gem status, based on a needle-sharp strike and vivid mint luster. A scrape along the...
