Description:

Arresting visual appeal stems from obvious prooflike character, and the canary-yellow color is very attractive. BG-434 is the only round 1856 half-dollar fractional, and this example seems undergraded, though grading standards and application are difficult to evaluate for this series of diminutive coins. Much of the charm derives from the absurdly large nose that gives Liberty a rather knavish appearance.
