Lot Title:
1877-CC NGC MS-64.
Description:
While Briggs-1A is easy to attribute (though NGC chose not to do so) by the broadly repunched 7s in the date (your cataloger suggest the last is actually triple-punched), extensive die clashes are also diagnostic of the variety. In addition, there are spindly die cracks on each side, and Liberty's portrait suffers the effects of die rust. A great variety for anyone who enjoys a little something extra for their coins! Besides this, the NGC MS-64 grade is a little understated, as this shining and mostly white coin features terrific luster and brilliant eye appeal.
