(About The Images)
1820 "Square Base, No Knob" (O-106, R.1) AU. 1820 "Square Base, No Knob" (O-106, R.1) AU.
Lot Title: 1820 "Square Base, No Knob" (O-106, R.1) AU.
Description: CONSIGNOR: There's just something really nice about this one. Clean, bright, I think it's kind of prooflike. Just had to have those rainbows! CATALOGER: Yet another jaw-dropping coin from this consignor that features shimmering, pastel rainbows on both sides, though the obverse is the more vividly toned. Sharply struck and not very prooflike, yet there is a definite cameo quality that can't be missed due to mild reflectivity in the fields. Prooflike examples of 1820 O-106 are known. From the Forest Park Collection.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

652The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,050.00
1820 (O-107, R.5) F.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Current ratings indicate R.5 for 1820 O-107, suggesting it is a very tough die-marriage, readily attributed by the lack of serifs on the Es. This example should...

734The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$750.00
1820 Square Base, No Knob (O-108, R.2) AU.
Rich rainbow toning shows that this AU-50 coin spent many decades in album storage, as it has that density and depth of color that can only be accomplished at the hands of Time. Sensational sea-green...
735The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$700.00
1820 (O-103a, R.2) AU.
CONSIGNOR: Always liked that curly "2" in the date, just reminds me about something. Like an old fashioned kind of font that you'd see on paper money. Just a clean, pretty coin, but nothing too...
737The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$340.00
1820 (O-108, R.2) XF.
Semi-prooflike at the time of striking, as is the case for many bust halves of the early 1820s, reflectivity remains most pronounced on the reverse, even between the vertical shield lines. Persistent...

1820 O-104, R-4. XF-45.
This "Large Wide Date, Knobbed Square Base 2" specimen displays splendid rose surfaces that are enhanced by exquisite blue. A few faint hairlines are noticed on the obverse.
1409The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$475.00
1820 O-108, R-2 AU-58.
Golden-sunset toning leaps from the magnificent silver surfaces of this Square Base 2, No Knob On 2 variety. Although lightly hairlined, its amazing visual appeal overshadows these minute lines. A...
1410The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,450.00
1820 O-103a, R-2 MS-60++.
An outburst of intensely blue and gold tones create a halo aspect for this superb specimen. A scant too many ticks and hairlines beneath these iridescent shades preclude us from pushing it to the...
