1806/9 (O-111a, R.4) XF.

Description:
|
CONSIGNOR: Got to be one of my favorites, just explodes with color. Lots of blue, red and green on this one, almost like a patriotic coin! I always liked overdates, and you can still see a piece of the "9" under the "6" on this one. I'll probably regret selling this for a long time. CATALOGER: A stunning coin that features far more luster than expected of just an XF-40 grade. Both sides are about equally decorated in substantial layers of crimson-gold and berry-blue colors, and despite about twenty points of wear, there are no distracting marks of note. The overdate features is exceedingly bold despite the later die state that features a die crack through the "8". From the Forest Park Collection.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Courteous Collection of Early Type. What appears to be a series of lengthy scratches on the reverse actually turns out to be a plentiful supply of adjustment marks. This must have started out as one... |
