Lot Title:
1928-D PCGS MS-65.
Description:
The buffalo nickel series is replete with branch mint issues that are usually poorly struck, but 1928-D does not suffer that fate. On the contrary, excellent definition can be seen throughout this handsome, lustrous gem, housed in a PCGS green label holder. Those abrasions which are scattered across each side are brief and generally isolated, but a grease stain is noticeable above the bison's shoulder. Spindly die cracks at the date may be responsible for the strike doubling in that area.
