(About The Images)
1876 PF-62. 1876 PF-62.
Lot Title: 1876 PF-62.
Description: Misty milky-white patina caresses each side and probably helps to subdue the effect of mild to moderate hairlines in the fields. Struck with extreme sharpness that is unusual even for a proof, with no significant handling marks on either side. Little cameo effect is apparent, but if proper conservation were to remove the patina, then additional contrast could become revealed.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1876 NGC UNC Details/stained.
The "stained" disclaimer used by NGC shows up from time to time, and can be puzzling in the face of a coin like this that simply looks like a rather dull BU coin. Perhaps the term is used in...

1876 MS-60.
The resplendent surfaces permeate a crimson aspect that is supplemented by splashes of periwinkle blue. A few random toned over marks are noted for this prominently struck date.

1876 PCGS PF-62.
This is one example of the 1,150 proofs coined during the Centennial year of the United States. Its few insignificant hairlines and contact ticks are mainly concealed by its silvery gray surfaces and...
