(About The Images)
1898-O NGC MS-66. 1898-O NGC MS-66.
Lot Title: 1898-O NGC MS-66.
Description: Elsewhere in today's sale is an 1899-O graded MS-67, yet although this 1898-O is graded one point lower, your cataloger contends that it actually possess better technical preservation, as there is virtually a complete lack of any disturbances of the obverse surfaces, and the fabulous white luster remains unimpeded on either side. The key factors that probably keep this coin from exceeding the other in grade are twofold: the strike is typically "New Orleans" with flatness over Liberty's ear and at the eagle's breast, and there is a moderate carbon spot resting above the "E" of ONE on the reverse. Though VAM attribution is not immediately obvious, an interesting curly raised line appears on the bunch of leaves just right of the central reverse knot.
Low Estimate: $240.00
High Estimate: $300.00

941The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$360.00
1898-O GSA Soft Pack NGC MS-63.
Bombs And Roses Set. Slightly nicer than average for MS-63, the surfaces display pleasing pewter-white luster with all-natural undipped patina, and the reverse seems to possess gem quality all by...
654The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$1,200.00
1898-O PCGS MS-67.
Rather well defined and heaped with extremely dense, frosted shimmering luster. Some tangerine-gold color gathers up against the rims, except at the top rim of the obverse, which is entangled with a...
744The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,525.00
1898-O PCGS MS-67.
Uncharacteristic of a New Orleans Morgan dollar, full central portrait detail on the obverse is complemented by exquisitely detailed breast feathers on the reverse. Beaming mint luster flashes with...
746The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$200.00
1898-O Morgan dollar, PCGS MS-65 PL
Although hardly a rare coin even at the "gem" level, this is a particularly attractive Morgan, with delightful, flashing luster and beautiful cameo contrast.
747The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$190.00
1898-O Morgan dollar, PCGS MS-65 PL
Vivid contrast between the reflective fields and the finely textured devices yields an obvious "PL" designation. Although not a rare date even with prooflike features, this is an unusually clean coin...
860The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$1,150.00
Thirty-Eight 1898-O Morgan Dollars.
Although hardly a rare date in the Morgan dollar series, both of these rolls should be carefully examined by the speculator. Several individuals appear to be a lock for at least an MS-65 grade,...
861The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$310.00
1898-O NGC MS-66.
This date was virtually unattainable prior to the great treasury vault release of 1962. Extraordinary luster gleams from the exceptional lustrous surfaces of this particular specimen. Its superb eye...

1898-O and 1902. MS-64.
The 1898-O has a charming white aspect on delightful satiny surfaces. The 1902 specimen glistens with a brilliance enhanced by golden nuances. A couple delicate scrapes are noticed on Liberty's...

1898-O NGC MS-67.
Only four specimens have attained a higher grade level from NGC, the highest is one example in MS-68. This untoned example is nearly pristine. It has superb satinlike surfaces that complement its...
853The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$1,200.00
1898-O NGC MS-67.
This incredibly frosty white specimen radiates an intensely lustrous visual aspect. Its surfaces are practically void of any imperfections. This date is exceedingly rare in this upper grade level. ...
857The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$190.00
1898-O and 1902 AU-58 and MS-60 Respectively.
Both coins are blast white and problem free. The 1898-O has just a smidge of rub that is holding it back from being a true Unc.
753The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$500.00
Roll of 1898-O Morgan Silver Dollars.
All of these coins are bright white and are from an original roll. They range in grade from MS-60 to MS-64.

Roll of 1898-O Morgan Silver Dollars.
Nice group of white dollars that grade MS-60 to MS-64.
855The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$70.00
1898-O MS-64 PL.
Prooflike "O" Mint Morgan Dollars are normally pretty tough to find. This example is blast white and problem free. The cheek is super clean.
856The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$260.00
1898-O PCGS MS-66.
Frosty and clean. Weak detail above the ear, which is normal. Large portions of the surfaces are completely void of marks. Without the light line on Liberty's cheek, this coin would probably have...
