(About The Images)
Forty silver dime type coins. Forty silver dime type coins.
Lot Title: Forty silver dime type coins.
Description: Only dimes are included in this lot, dated 1821 through 1843 with heavy concentration nearer the middle of this date range. These are generally nicely detailed coins, though a few are affected by corrosion and all are at least marginally cleaned. Forty coin lot from the Merten Silver Treasure.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $775.00
High Estimate: $900.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.

Three dimes, all NGC.
Dense olive-gold and grey intermingle with intensity on the obverse of a 1914 Barber dime (MS-64). Mercury dimes include 1927 (MS-64 FB) with a deft touch of obsidian over screaming white luster, and...

401The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$825.00
Fifty coin lot of Bust, Seated, and Barber dimes.
New World Estate. Considerable variety derives easily from the presence of three different dime types with dates spanning a large range of 1820 through at least 1913. Grades will extend from AG in...
402The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$475.00
Collection of Mercury and Roosevelt dimes in two Dansco albums.
No 1916-D appears here, but dimes from 1916 through 2012-D comprise this interesting group, and the consignor has also included proof issues from 1960 through 2000-S on the final page. The Mercury...
594The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$370.00

595The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$625.00
Five dime type coins.
7070 Collection. These are unattributed and present very strong details to a coin, albeit with an occasional noted problem. The coins have been cataloged as: 1832 (AU/lightly cleaned, but not at all...
390The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$525.00
Two rolls of silver dimes.
The consignor assures us that the roll of 1946 Roosevelt dimes is fully original and in the original bank wrapper, although time has loosened it up quite a bit. The mintmark is not apparent, and the...
391The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$360.00
Three U.S. dime types.
1835 has nearly AU details but the greyish surfaces may display very slight microporosity. A pair of seated dimes include 1850 (AU) with crumbs of nice toning scattered through the stars, and 1853...

243The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,250.00
Album (1916 - 1945-S) of Mercury dimes.
Considerable effort has been expended in upgrading this fabulous Dansco album of Mercury dimes, which lacks only 1916-D and overdates (for which there are no slots). The vast majority of coins,...
244The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$800.00
Album (1916 - 1945-S) of Mercury dimes.
Despite the absence of overdates and the presence of mostly lower grade coins in every hole, this Dansco Mercury dime album is highly presentable, having been filled with humble, honestly circulated...

Two partial albums (1946 - 1987-S) of Roosevelt dimes.
Two Dansco albums contain an interesting selection of Roosevelt dimes. The first set is complete from 1946 through 1987-S inclusive, and is populated with strictly attractive brilliant uncirculated...

Three Seated Liberty dimes..
Seated Liberty dimes of different types encompass this lot. Included are: 1837 no stars (VF-20), 1853 arrows (XF-45/dipped), and 1873 (AU-50). The latter coin was undoubtedly prooflike at the time...
345The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$425.00
One BU (tube) roll of 1944-D Mercury dimes.
Almost certainly a "made" roll, judging by the edges, but there are some fabulous coins in this tube of 1944-D dimes.
346The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$675.00
Three BU dime rolls form the 1940's (2 - 1945 & 1 - 1946) .

347The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$525.00
Two BU (tubes) rolls of Roosevelt dimes.
One tube of 1947-D and one OBW roll of 1949-D Roosevelt dimes are included in this lot. Edges of the coins in the tube suggest a "made" roll of mostly choice coins, while the OBW roll features a pair...
348The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$725.00

51The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$2,500.00
Twenty-nine dimes.
The majority of coins in this larger dime lot are not drastically cleaned, and most would pass as being reasonably original. There are a dozen bust dimes and seventeen Seated dimes, including an 1838...
52The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$390.00

Two Wayte Raymond album pages (1935-D - 1945-S) of Mercury dimes.

55The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$610.00
Four albums of Roosevelt dimes.
Four complete sets of Roosevelt dimes, though "completeness" must be defined per each album's available slots. First is a Dansco set which is, beyond all doubt, the finest set in this grouping, a...
56The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$575.00
Album (1916 - 1945) of Mercury dimes.
A well used Whitman album containing a complete set of Mercury dimes (except overdates), evidently averaging 'fine" or so through the teens and progressing to "very fine" or better thereafter, on...
252The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$280.00
Six rolls of Roosevelt dimes. Unc.
Dates include 1959-D and five rolls of 1962. Blatantly obvious and visually marvelous end-of-roll toning on at least twelve coins is a speculator's dream. Six roll lot.
253The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$525.00
Album (1916 - 1945) of Mercury dimes
Circulated but original coins dominate this set, though as usual, there is a sprinkling of higher grade coins representing later dates, beginning with the 1934. The 1916-D is a rather weak AG-3, the...
254The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$500.00
Album (1916 - 1945) of Mercury dimes, most PVC damaged
Coins placed in Harco "Coinmaster" albums often seem to develop PVC damage, and regrettably, nearly every single coin in this set does so. There is no 1916-D, but fortunately, the included 1942/1 was...
255The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$975.00
Album (1916 - 1945 plus 1942/1) of Mercury dimes
Despite containing mostly well circulated coins, much value lurks within the coins present. The all important 1916-D grades a perfect AG-3, the 1921 is a remarkably nice, full G-6, and the 1921-D...
256The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$575.00
Album (1916 - 1945) of Mercury dimes
The key 1916-D is not included in this set, and curiously, the 1927-D is missing as well, but all other coins are present. While the 1943-D is a brilliant uncirculated coin, all the rest are...
257The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$260.00
Album (1946 - 1989-S) of Roosevelt dimes
Some fantastic gem coins in this album have naturally evolved into some very beautifully toned specimens, especially numerous examples on the first page and a few other scattered elsewhere. The...
258The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$120.00
1950 - 1964 proof Roosevelt dimes
Gleaming white proof dimes, dated 1950 - 1964, comprise this lot. Only the 1951 and 1953 have a reasonable chance for a "cameo" designation, but these are fully brilliant and blast white coins,...
