(About The Images)
1884 and 1898 NGC 1884 and 1898 NGC
Lot Title: 1884 and 1898 NGC
Description: Both of the Liberty nickels in this lot are pleasing for their respective grades, as assigned by NGC. The 1884 (MS-63) is sharply struck and lustrous and suffers no post-mint impairment, with the grade determined by luster that is somewhat muted by dense patina. The 1898 (MS-64) features excellent luster and plenty of mint frost, with a bagmark beneath Liberty's eye that limits the grade. Two coin lot.
Low Estimate: $300.00
High Estimate: $380.00

254The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$150.00
1884 MS-62.
Sparkling luster and a very decent strike are suggestive of choice preservation, but some short, wispy hairlines at the center of the reverse appear to be slide marks and barely knock this coin back...

1884, 1886, and 1912-S with F/VF details.
Corrosion is an unfortunate aspect of each of these better Liberty nickels, but to their credit, LIBERTY is fully readable in every case. The 1912-S actually is not that bad for surface quality, and...
200The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$190.00
1884 MS-62.
Some short, wispy hairlines at the center of the reverse appear to be slide marks and barely knock this coin back to the MS-62 grade, but otherwise, the booming luster and sharp strike are suggestive...
334The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$240.00
1884 PF-64.
Light woodgrain toning adorns both the obverse and reverse of this choice Liberty Nickel. The devices are needle sharp, and the fields are free of distractions. Appears lightly cleaned.
