Lot Title:
1851 J-131. PCGS PF-65. Restrike.
Description:
This Copper-Nickel, Reeded Edge Pattern Cent is ascribed as Judd-131, Pollock-155 with a Rarity of 8. Presumed to have been struck for collectors, circa 1860's, this annular cent pattern displays an appealing shade of gray that copiously cloaks its soft, lustrous surfaces. There are no detracting toning speckles or unsightly marks. The devices and inscriptions are sharply delineated. A piece with stately prominence. The PCGS Population Report indicates only two, with none finer.
