(About The Images)
1803 Large 3 (B-6, BB-255, R.2). ANACS XF-40. 1803 Large 3 (B-6, BB-255, R.2). ANACS XF-40.
Lot Title: 1803 Large 3 (B-6, BB-255, R.2). ANACS XF-40.
Description: The reverse die used for 1803 B-6 was a workhorse, used on seven different varieties, this being its terminal usage. Die characteristics include a raised vertical line following UNITED, and some chipping in the field next to the left end of the reverse ribbon. Very enjoyable for the assigned XF-40 grade, this steel-grey coin features significant cartwheel luster on the reverse despite twenty points of wear. Surfaces are surprisingly unimpeded by any of the expected circulation marks, and the rims appear to be free of dings.
