Lot Title:

Undated (1792-1794) Kentucky Token/ Breen 1155/ plain edge/ 148.15 grains and 1794 Franklin Press Token/ Breen 1165/ D & H Middlesex 307a/ 111.11 grains. XF.
|
Description:
|
Because it was struck off of dies in an earlier die state, the Franklin Press copper features sharper details than are often seen, and lacks the large die break most often seen. This coin grades "very-fine" by proper early copper grading standards, but looks like coins generally found in "XF" slabs. The Kentucky copper also grades "very-fine", and features excellent surface quality and good color, though the central scroll is mushy. Two coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
