(About The Images)
1902-S NGC MS-66. 1902-S NGC MS-66.
Lot Title: 1902-S NGC MS-66.
Description: Incredibly clean surface quality and sensational mint luster leaves no doubt as to the veracity of the MS-66 grade. Indeed, higher grade consideration could almost be warranted were it not for slight muting of the mint luster by a greying area centered within the left obverse field. Closer examination reveals that the greying effect results from a spray of very fine carbon in the area, though at arm's length, it has the appearance of paper toning. A rather distinctive looking half-eagle that needs to be seen to be appreciated.

505The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$475.00
1902-S NGC MS-62.
Peppered by many tiny abrasions, there is no doubt that the grade is limited to MS-62 on the obverse, though the reverse is a little better preserved. Slight remnants of die grease confirm vintage...
506The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$1,250.00
1902-S NGC MS-64 CAC.
Cleanly struck and ideally medium-gold, this half-eagle represents just about the optimum preservation for MS-64. Indeed, the obverse is perhaps slightly above average for the grade, though the...
1075The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,500.00
1902-S NGC MS-64.
Spindly web-like die cracks on the upper obverse hint at problems to come for that die, as it neared a shattered state from heavy usage. For that matter, the stars are a little softly struck. Fields...
808The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$4,700.00
1902-S NGC MS-66.
Opulent, velvet mint luster makes an indelible impression upon the viewer, and leads to instant appreciation of this as a very-gem example of a type that proves amazingly elusive in high grade. ...
1170The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,650.00
1902-S and 1904 NGC MS-63.
Choice, lustrous half-eagles have both been certified as grading MS-63 by NGC. The 1902-S features coppery-gold tone, while the 1904 is pale by comparison, but both are nicely struck. Two coin lot.
1062The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$3,050.00
1902-S PCGS MS-65.
Its vivid eye appeal practically nullifies the presence of a paltry number of contact ticks on this significantly struck specimen. A luxuriant golden hue copiously adorns the splendid lustrous...
988The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$1,500.00
1902-S NGC MS-64.
Lustrous and sharply struck, this 1902-S Half Eagle will be just right for a type collection. A few small ticks on the obverse may keep this out of the MS-65 category, but it is very close and may be...
1116The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$1,850.00
1902-S NGC MS-64.
A super nice coin that has pleasing color and no distractions. Rolling luster is visible on both the obverse and reverse. There is a bit of reddish toning on the shield.
