Lot Title:
1851-O NGC MS-64.
Description:
The 1851-O trime is certainly notorious for mushy strikes, and this one lives up to that reputation. But the same strike problems that produced soft shield and denomination details are also partially responsible for the lovely tortoise-shell luster that is particular to the issue. A platinum-grey example that offers adequate appeal despite the technical deficiencies.

1851-O PCGS MS-63.
Soft, original grey patina gently subdues the mint luster, and widely scattered, extremely small carbon flecks are featured. No die clash is readily apparent. |
