(About The Images)
Lot Title:
1871 (BG-859) quarter-dollar. PCGS MS-61.
Description:
Rustic tone overlays much of this rare (R.6) gold quarter, and a sizeable abrasion appears just above the first star. The small neck and heavily crowned head evoke images of a very young Liberty, although as is so often the case for fractional gold, the nose is disproportionately large. A green speck rests at the corner of the Indian's eye.
