Lot Title:
1868 NGC MS-65.
Description:
The surfaces are so clean and the patina so clear that the die clash affecting both sides of this coin can easily be seen without magnification. Liberty's portrait is solidly outlined on the reverse, and on the obverse, about half the wreath and some of the Roman numeral can be seen. Despite their apparent well-used status, a very sharp strike was obtained from the dies, with minor softness at the lowest curls. A delightful gem!
